Lausanne Palace Glamour Portrait Experience
Let me start this post by naming the obvious - this was an AMAZING experience for everyone involved!
If you are reading this, you probably already know that photographing everyday women through an empowering, Magazine-style photoshoot is my specialty and it is what brings me most joy in my work. So I was completely in my element during this photoshoot.
Inga and Natalie are two musicians, performing together in their classical duo “Piano con Voce”. Inga, the beautiful blond in the picture, contacted me last year during the pandemic lockdown. Her wish was to surprise Natalie with a Glamour photoshoot as they both needed an uplifting experience and also Personal Branding images for their website and social media.
We started planning their portrait session with a design consultation. Every detail was discusses together and we ended up with a session “mood board” - makeup, hairstyling, wardrobe and photoshoot location were carefully planned, all in alignment with their Brand, which is a classy and fabulous musical experience.
Here is the moment to thank Lausanne Palace and in particular Sarah Jane Turin (responsible for PR Communications) for kindly letting us shoot in the very special Coco Chanel Suite, which was inspired by the famous french designer, who was a privileged guest for many years at Lausanne Palace.
Getting Ready & Backstage Photos
We arrived at the hotel early in the morning and started the day with a cup of coffee and a quick briefing of the photoshoot timeline. Then, a nice gentleman led us to the exquisite Coco Chanel Suite, where all the beauty transformation started. You can see me in the pictures applying makeup on Natalie and Inga, which might come as a surprise, but I was actually a professionally trained makeup artist even before I started with photography. Enormous thank you to Angela, who created beautiful hairstyles for the girls as a perfect compliment to their makeup and red carpet dresses. We dedicated 5 hours to this photoshoot and Inga and Natalie were each photographed in 3 different gowns and in 3 different locations in Lausanne Palace.
The Lausanne Palace Lobby
Lausanne Palace Lobby is a place I particularly like for its romantic vibe and white marble columns. It was the perfect location to give a grand wow factor to the main portrait of Inga and Natalie. It also has a grand piano, which made everything feel like a very special concert hall.
The Coco Chanel Suite
Our second Glamour photo location was back in the Coco Chanel Suite. It has such a rare elegance and class and if you ever have a special occasion and looking for a place that will take you breath away, you should book this suite without hesitation. To compliment the room’s blue sky and beige tones, we chose for Inga and Natalie dresses in pink and gold undertones, that also suited perfectly their skin tones.
The Coco Chanel Bedroom & Balcony
Inga and Natalie have a sisters-like connection and they wanted this bond to transpire through the portraits we created together. I believe we were able to capture this for all of you to witness. The beautiful music they create is filled with the wonderful personalities they carry. We wrapped the photoshoot with a few portraits on the balcony, including the beautiful view of lake Leman and, photographing them in B&W to create a feeling of old Hollywood glamour.

I believe the images are saying much more than what I could put into words. It was glamorous, it was classy and luxurious, it was an experience to remember. Every women should be photographed like this at least once in her life and feel like a true queen for a day. And it is always my biggest pleasure to photograph women and empower them through beautiful images of themselves!
